Climbing Management Plans (CMPs) - Examples
These plans guide land managers on how to steward climbing resources.
A Climbing Management Plan (CMP) is written to help land managers oversee rock climbing activities within a specific area. The goal of a CMP is to balance the preservation of natural and cultural resources with the recreational use of the area by climbers. Common topics in these plans include: access trails, parking and other infrastructure, cultural and wildlife resource protection, education efforts, and impact mitigation.
